Wallson Glass has been one of the most empowering experiences of my writing life. In my very first session, I experienced what I can only describe as a great relief—the relief of discovering a set of practical, endlessly re-usable techniques for becoming inspired even on the blankest of days, for making poetic generation feel less like a test one could fail and more like a game one can play. Geoffrey is truly one-of-a-kind: his inventive spirit and permission-giving enthusiasm create an environment where people feel comfortable enough to be at play. The community he has cultivated at Wallson Glass is one of the most creative and supportive that I’ve found. Every session, I leave with new materials for poetry—sometimes even with a fully-drafted poem—and a renewed sense of my own capacity to make. No other seminar has made writing poems feel so possible.
